COVID-19 Daily Update - March 26th

Changes to Alcohol Sales Rules

Starting immediately, licensed restaurants in Ontario can now sell beer, wine and spirits as take out or delivery – as a part of a food order. This is a key point: it must be purchased along with food.

There is no set limit for the amount of alcohol that may be purchased.

They will be allowed to sell between the hours of 9AM and 11PM.

Reminder
All people returning from foreign travel must self isolate.

As was announced yesterday, there will now be legal consequences for those who refuse to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return. Further, anyone who is returning to Canada who displays symptoms at the border will not be allowed to use public transit to travel to their place of isolation.

Text Scams

It has come to our attention that there are text scams that are currently attempting to profit from fears around COVID-19. I would please ask that anyone who is looking to secure government assistance rely only on official government websites for these resources. If you are unsure about where to find these resources, please contact my office.
